Police Clearance Certificate is Essential

There are many foreigners of Indian origin who often come down here for different purposes like education, training, family reasons and many others. It has been a global regulation to show up police clearance certificate if you have changed your residence country temporarily or permanently. Those who tend to travel here must know about it. Its submission is compulsory, clearly stating the reason for emigrating there.

Such applicants should know about the checklist of the documents to be enclosed with PCC application form. If you don’t know about it, contact the nearby consular office of India. The competent person will disclose what documents you should have.

If somehow, you don’t have all documents, contact the consular office. The concerned person will assist in this matter. He will provide approval on the email before submitting the application at the services to NRI outsourcing agency.

As far as the fee is concerned, it can be different. For example, the NRIs of Canada have to pay C$ 44.40. Likewise, other countries also have their own fee structure for PCC. You can contact the consul to ask about the same.

 Application Status Tracking

  • Visit the Indian embassy website in that particular country
  • The link has been provided by the competent person over the internet upon submitting the application. Just access it.
  • Provide the file number on the passport server to start with monitoring the status of your application. It should be like this: https://portal2.passportindia.gov.in/AppOnlineProject/statusTracker/trackStatusInpNew

 Don’ts

  • You are suggested not to submit PCC application more than once unless and until the matter of your previous application is in the pipeline.
  • Avoid making mistakes in the form, as in selecting gender Mr. or Ms/ son of/ daughter of. These details are printed on your document, which you cannot undo later.
  • Avoid requesting for corrections. Rather, submit a fresh application to get it.

Generally, the consulate quickly entertains you by addressing your request, issuing the certificate in time. The application is sent to processing by the outsourcing agency physically so that you can get it verified the very same day.

Later, you can submit it to the consulate the next working day. On the flip side, if you opt for the postal application, it can take somewhere around 7 to 10 days. Moreover, you can face further delay f there are some discrepancies in the application or the enclosed document.

Post Verification

Once your application is verified, the police authorities will be informed about the same. They will maintain digital records of the purpose stated in the application, which is again a time-taking process. This can cover 7 to 10 days.

However, the application’s status can be tracked over the internet on the given link by the competent authority in an official email. But the verification to be carried out in the background can be long, which may last in between 6 and 8 weeks. So, applicants are requested to raise a request with the consul to know more about the status.
